The “better discussions” reflect Ariana’s increasingly positive mental state. On her August 2018 album, Sweetener , she confronts her emotions following the May 2017 bombing at her Manchester concert . In her July 2018 ELLE cover story , Ariana described how she felt: There were a couple months straight where I felt so upside down. Apple Music originally had the lyric “her name is Ari” transcribed as “her name is Aubrey,” which caused a bit of controversy with fans who wondered if Ariana had a new lover or if she was talking about Drake, whose given name is Aubrey Graham. Apple later apologized for the incident and Grande confirmed the lyric was "Ari,” as in herself, “Ariana.” In the official music video , the mix-up was joked about, which Troye Sivan said: I heard she’s a lesbian now and dating some chick named Aubrey. It’s fuckin' sick.
