A throwback to his brief beef with Common from 2011. Common had a 2011 song dissing Drake, called “Sweet,” which didn’t mention his name, but it was later confirmed in an interview with SwayInTheMorning that the lines were directed towards Drake. Drake responded on Rick Ross' 2012 song, “Stay Schemin,” where he raps: It bothers me when the gods get to actin' like the broads Guess every team doesn’t come complete with niggas like ours That’s why I see no need to compete with niggas like y’all Common responded quickly on a remix of “Stay Schemin” and continued to take shots at Drake: You so black and white, trying to live a nigga’s life I’m taking too long with this amateur guy You ain’t wet nobody, nigga, you Canada dry This line could also include a jab at Kanye who he has fired subliminal disses at previously throughout his most recent album at the time, Scorpion . “On Sight” is also the name of the first song off of Kanye’s album, Yeezus . Drake’s version of “on sight” has a different meaning than Kanye’s, which is to engage in violent activity on first glance of another person, while Kanye’s seems to be about police brutality, paparazzi, assumptions, and conclusions. It’s almost certain that a potential shot at Kanye definitely slipped passed Travis as he is dating the sister of Kanye’s wife, Kylie Jenner, who he refers to on the last line of his verse on this track. The Kanye diss could also have made it through considering that Drake’s verse was turned in the same day ASTROWORLD dropped .
