Semi and nine refer to guns (a “semi-automatic” and a gun that uses 9mm caliber bullets). Like the “popping” that comes from a gun when it’s shot, A$AP wants this girl to pop it for pimp . The choice between “a semi or a nine” is a confusing one, because 9mm guns don’t come in revolver style—they are exclusively semi-automatic. Since a “nine” is a “semi” by definition, saying “make it pop like a semi or a nine” makes as much sense as saying “driving a BMW or a car.”
