Kill Bill by SZA SZA likens herself to Bill from the 2003-2004 Kill Bill film duology. Bill crashes and massacres the wedding of his ex-lover Beatrix Kiddo after finding out she faked her death to get away from him. At the end of Kill Bill: Vol. 2, Bill reveals that his motive was jealousy: Not only are you not dead, you’re getting married to some fucking jerk and you’re pregnant. I overreacted. […] There are consequences to breaking the heart of a murdering bastard. “I’m still a fan even though I was salty” encapsulates Bill’s feelings about Kiddo. He praises her character often, but still insists on having her dead if she’s not with him. “Hate to strong see you happy if I’m not the one drivin'” may also be a subtle reference to Elle Driver, the one-eyed antagonist from the films: “Broad” is also phonetically similar to “bride,” which would be a reference to Kiddo’s “the Bride” moniker.
