What is the meaning behind “Grainin’ on that wood, grainin’-grainin’ on that wood I’m swervin’ on that, swervin’-swervin’ on that Big body been servin’ all this Swerve, surfin’ all in this good-good (Hahaha)”? Drunk in Love by Beyoncé (Ft. JAY-Z)

These lines draw an analogy between sexual intercourse and driving a car. “Graining” is pronounced to sound like a continuation of the grinding in the chorus – this time moving from the club to her husband’s wood – but uses the grain as a descriptor for the surface appearance of wood. Swerving the car, and the continuation of surfing , are comparable to the sexual movement. The car she’s metaphorically swerving has a large frame, often colloquially referred to as a “big bodied” car, much like the fatty she described having in the first verse. Jay Z previously professed that he had “a thing for the big-body Benzes” in “Allure,” and we know he loves his wife’s.
