“Dry!” is Jamaican Patois for boring or un-entertaining. As a consequence, Rihanna says “Me ah desert him”—meaning it’s time to leave. This is wordplay on the words “desert” and “dry.” A desert is the driest place on earth, so it’s a fitting place to leave him if he keeps being such a “dry” dude. She’s not aroused or excited to be around him—he’s not making her wet! She’s dry like a desert so now she’s got to desert him. “Nuh time to have you lurking” means she can’t have him sticking around doing nothing. The man is going to be unhappy about it, but Rihanna insists she was good to him. RiRi’s rumoured to be dating Travis Scott , who is featured on ANTi’s “Woo” —but she more recently told Ellen DeGenres that she was “single,” and the lyrics don’t seem to be about Scott in particular.
