Following braggadocios bars and songs from Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar in 2013 about being kings, Eminem sets himself apart from the competition. Even a king has to bow down to the almighty presence of a God. Interestingly enough, Rolling Stone named Eminem the King of Hip-Hop in 2011, and even Marshall called himself a king on “Lighters” from the same year. It’s likely Eminem sees himself advancing, rather than regressing—he’s getting better with every year.
