This line ties in with the hook line directly preceding it. Note the wordplay–the word strong genes can also be heard as strong jeans , leading to two meanings: ul li Genes: It’s in Em’s blood to rap with technical perfection similar to that of a robot. li Jeans: There’s literally a computer in Em’s jeans. Hence “I got a laptop in my back pocket”. To have something in the “back-pocket” also means to have something at hand at all times. Eminem plays on both the figurative and literal meaning of having something in the “back-pocket.”
