“AC” stands for “air conditioning.” Kendrick utilizes the play on words, “AC-ayy,” to allude to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) , which segues into his Obama mention. Kendrick claims that while other artists and celebrities have met Obama, he’s genuinely close with the former President. This seems plausible, especially since Obama has been open about how much of a Kendrick fan he is. Obama named “How Much A Dollar Cost” his favorite song of 2015, he openly said that Kendrick would beat Drake in a rap battle, he invited Kendrick to a meeting at the Oval office, and even had him perform at the White House on July 4, 2016. Coming full circle, Obama included Humble on his favourite songs of 2017 list . These lyrics follow a rhyme style and pattern that has been the topic of much controversy; it was used by Lil Uzi Vert in his song “Super Saiyan Trunks,” and was later used by XXXTentacion in “Look At Me,” and then infamously by Drake in “KMT.”
