“Dat Way” is a reference to Migos' collaboration with Rich The Kid, which was released on October 12, 2016. It’s used in a similar way as “that part,” but refers to how something was done or accomplished. Rich the Kid also collaborated with Famous Dex on “That Way," which was released on July 4, 2016, well prior to the Migos/Rich The Kid collaboration “Dat Way.” While Migos is clearly laying claim to this term , others feel differently . All four lines here use the end-line rhyming multis. Segway offers a nice reference to Migos making fun of a rent-a-cop on a segway , while Quavo supposedly used to work at (and trap out of a) Subway. Macy Gray is a bi-sexual R&B singer who Quavo takes to be lesbian. He offers usual male braggadocious confidence in a lesbian knocking on his door for sex, something rappers have a history of bragging about.
