Nicki creates two puns using the name of fellow rapper and singer, Post Malone and his song “ When I’m Alone ”, as well as basketball player Karl Malone . Karl Malone’s nickname is “the Mailman,” hence the use of “ going postal ,” which is a phrase meaning to become extremely and uncontrollably angry, often to the point of violence. Tying the puns together, postal workers drive in large mail trucks, typically alone. Nicki being “alone” in her truck can also be interpreted literally, as in she bought it herself, or metaphorically, as in she carries the female rap game alone, and continues to push the bar higher.
